What is the NRHS Endowment Board?
The NRHS Endowment Fund was established in 1999 after it was determined that there was a need for an educational foundation outside of the school system to fill the void left from insufficient funds in the high school budget. A nonprofit corporation was formed and received 501(c)(3) status. The fund is managed by a board of directors. The current members of the board are parents of high school students and community members, representing all three district towns.

The purpose of the NRHS Endowment Board is to coordinate the solicitation, reception, and distribution of donations and gifts to the high school. The Endowment Board supports creative programs that expand the financial and human resources of the high school. It has sponsored and provided funding for numerous enrichment activities, supplies and materials.

The high school faculty and administration has an opportunity twice each school year to apply for grants from the fund. The majority of the funds for the grants are raised through private donations. A program called “Cars for Kids” provides funds when people donate unwanted vehicles. The board sponsors the Annual Holiday Social for parents and school staff, and also initiated the Excellence in Education Award which is presented each spring to outstanding members of the high school staff.
